As per some recent developments, the Windy Hill Elementary School has had a part to play in a significant transformation within the district as the Duval County Public Schools proceeds with its plan to consolidate and restructure schools within the district. During the year 2025-2026, the school building will be put on hold and used to accommodate students enrolled in another elementary program during the completion of renovations at the school. Various community events and farewells recently conducted at the location indicate deep ties that alumni and faculty share with the history of the place.
