Duval County Public Schools has started adding walk-through weapon detection systems at middle schools across Jacksonville, including Arlington Middle School, as part of a safety rollout announced in early 2026. The change is meant to tighten entry procedures and improve day-to-day campus security. District officials say the upgrades are being introduced in phases across schools in the area, with Arlington included in the initial group of installations.
