Westside Elementary School recently hosted a “Innovation Expo” showcasing original science projects and creative prototypes from its PK-5 students to local Daytona Beach industry professionals. The school is celebrating its latest state assessment results that show measurable progress in students’ foundational reading skills through the new “Power Hour” intervention sessions. The campus was also recently honored for its strong “Peer Mediation” program in which older students are able to mediate conflicts and create a positive social environment.

Ans. Older students trained in this help their fellow students to talk through disagreements in a peaceful way. This creates a much more respectful school environment on a daily basis.

Ans. In our discovery labs students work on active, hands-on class projects to explore experiments that bring textbook theories to life.
