Taft is a city in California. Its elementary education system reflects the close-knit, community-oriented character of this small town in western Kern County, which has historically been associated with the oil industry and is primarily a family-oriented place to live. Taft is home to approximately 9,000 people and provides families with a safe, secure, and family-friendly environment that is quieter than California's larger cities.
