Oakdale is located in California Central Valley (just north of Modesto). Oakdale has a population of about 23000 and is recognized for being a small town and having many farming traditions. There are several public/private elementary schools within the city limits, most are run by the Oakdale Joint Unified School District, a district that is often commended for maintaining high academic achievement levels. The Oakdale schools emphasize academics while still providing many other types of activities, i.e., athletics, fine arts, and involvement with the community.
