Fontana is a city in Californias San Bernardino County. It has a strong family culture and a suburban way of life. Over 35,000 students attend 45 schools in Fontana Unified School District (FUSD), which has over 200,000 residents. Almond Elementary School serves K–6 students. The school reflects the communitys diverse population, with a large Hispanic majority. Almonds test scores are currently below the state average, but the school and district focus on literacy programs and creative activities. Almond started a Little Free Library and received a large book donation to encourage reading. Fontana elementary schools offer inclusive education and extracurriculars. The city is a good place for families to start their young childrens education because the district emphasizes early literacy, STEM, and community engagement.
