Somerton High School is a public high school in Somerton, Arizona. It is part of the Somerton Elementary School District and has secondary programs that serve the local community. The school serves students in grades 9–12 and is focused on making education available to everyone in a close-knit, community-centered setting. The school has a regular high school curriculum that includes core subjects, electives, Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities, sports, and other activities outside of school. Somerton High School wants to keep class sizes small and give each student the help they need to do well in school. The school has a student-teacher ratio of about 18:1. The students come from a wide range of backgrounds, but most of them are Hispanic, just like the community of Somerton. About 15% of students are good at math and about 27% are good at reading (ELA). Somerton High School is a public school that gets money from the state and local schools. Students take SAT, ACT and Arizona state tests and have to meet graduation requirements.
