The school has also recently set aside a special area on campus just for junior high students. Located in Maricopa, Arizona, Sequoia Pathway Academy is a public charter school for students in grades K–12 that does not charge tuition. It is also the first charter school in the city. The school has a lot of students and a 17:1 student-teacher ratio across its K–12 campus. Right now, academic performance is lower than at other schools, with only 14% of students doing well in math and 23% in reading.
