Odyssey Preparatory Academy is the best elementary school serving PK-8 grade with 554 students, having a student–teacher ratio of about 15:1. The school says that about 52% of its students are proficient at math and 53% are proficient at reading. There are 52% girls and 48% boys in the student body. Odyssey students have slightly better reading scores and are more involved in enrichment programs than students at Somerset Skyway and Desert Thunder. Most students go on to attend Odyssey Institute or Desert Edge High School, which is known for its alumni who are involved in community leadership and the arts. The school uses an International Baccalaureate-inspired curriculum to encourage project-based learning and global awareness. The school is adding to its Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs by making its ROTC program, Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) classes, and Business and Entrepreneurial track bigger. It is also offering CTE classes for 6th graders and says that almost 100 students are in the Dual Enrollment program.
