Being Updated
The Flagstaff Unified School District Governing Board has given the green light to a land swap with Northern Arizona University (NAU). This move will allow for the construction of a new Kinsey Elementary School in the Bow & Arrow neighborhood, a change from its present location.
Kinsey Elementary's after-school program partner has reported a budget issue. Due to a shortfall in expected federal funding, over 130 students may no longer be able to attend the program this year.
Q1. What steps does Kinsey take regarding bullying or disagreements between students?
Ans: To maintain a secure atmosphere, the school has anti-bullying programs, conflict resolution classes, and counselor assistance.
Q2. Can students do community service or volunteer work?
Ans: Yes, students get involved in community projects, school charity events, and volunteering.
Q3. How does Kinsey keep parents updated on their child's learning?
Ans: Parents get report cards, progress reports, and can use online portals. They can also meet with teachers to talk about their child's learning.
Q4. What is done to help students move to middle school?
Ans: Fifth-graders get an orientation, advice on school subjects, and help to be ready for the social changes of middle school. This is to get them ready.
Q5. What does the school do to track attendance and encourage regular attendance?
Ans: The school watches attendance closely and helps students by giving them mentors, rewards for coming to school, and programs to reach out to families.
