The North Little Rock Public Education Foundation (NLR PEF) gave Indian Hills Elementary two "Innovative Teaching Grants." One went to the music and physical education teachers for a combined music and PE program that used stability balls and drumsticks. The other went to the first-grade team for literacy center supplies like word-building trays and letter cubes to help kids improve their reading and decoding skills.
