Being Updated
The 2025–2026 district-wide staffing and wellness changes include a new district health-services coordinator — relevant for Cato and all schools under Pulaski County Special School District (PCSSD)
Q1. Does Cato Elementary School offer free or reduced-price meals to all of its students?
Ans. Yes, Cato Elementary chooses to be part of the community meal program, which gives free meals to all enrolled students who meet the district's requirements.
Q2. What extra-curricular or enrichment programs does Cato Elementary offer?
Ans. The school has a lot of programs, like gifted and talented (Alpha), the Student Council, clubs (like "Wise Girls Rock" and "Anti-Bullying"), and after-school care through a partnership with the district.
Q3. Does Cato Elementary take part in any summer community service programs?
Ans. Yes, Cato Elementary is a place where kids under 18 in the district can pick up meal boxes during the summer. This helps families get food during school breaks.
Q4: What is the student-teacher ratio at Cato, and how might that affect how much attention students pay in class?
Ans. The ratio is about 17:1, which means that classes are not too big and students can get more individual attention than in crowded classrooms.
Q5. Does Cato Elementary want parents and the community to get involved?
Ans. Yes, the school has a Parent-Teacher/Parent Involvement Plan that asks parents to help out with things like field trips, holiday events, class support, volunteering in the media center, and more.
Note: Schedules may change during school holidays. Please contact School for exact Schedule.
