W. H. Council Traditional School is a public magnet elementary school in Mobile, Alabama serving students from pre-kindergarten through grade 5 under the Mobile County Public School System. Located at 751 Wilkinson Street, it is the only International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) elementary in the district. The school emphasises traditional academic structure, communication, and mastery of essential skills in reading, mathematics, Spanish, and foreign language awareness. Students are selected by lottery from throughout the county. Council offers special classes in art, music, strings, STEM, library/media, counseling, and gifted education (PACE). Principal Allison Streeter leads a committed faculty in promoting high expectations, responsibility, and global learning in a structured, nurturing environment. The school consistently ranks among the top elementary schools in the state.

On April 23, 2025, MCPSS reminded parents that student registration for the 2025-26 school year (new and returning students) must be completed online by June 1, 2025, including submission of proof of residence.
In September 2025, Council Traditional School released a parent survey titled “Parent Surveys: We Value Your Feedback!” to gather family perspectives on school climate, instruction, and operations.
