Mt. Carmel Elementary School in Douglas County, GA, is celebrating some big accomplishments. The new intermediate school broke ground in Hazel Green, and the school also received a gift from Adtran of $95,000 for educational initiatives. Registration opened for First Class Pre-K as well. Mt. Carmel Elementary earned the 2023 National Blue Ribbon Award, and has been recognized as Huntsville's Best School.
Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel Elementary School in Hawkins County, TN also received new accomplishments as well. Mt. Carmel Elementary was recognized as a “Grief-Sensitive School” by the New York Life Foundation, with a grant of $500. They also received an “A” rating from the TN Department of Education for the 2023-24 school year.
Riverton Elementary School welcomed a new Principal, Dr. Andrea Datson, who brings community experience as its school leader as well. The school received a grant of $10,000 from the state of Alabama for new programs and resources for students. The school will be safe
