Highland Elementary School has recently started a new character program for the whole school . By this program they focuses on being kind, respectful, and a good leader. This goes along with the school's motto, "Giving Kids the Power to Be GREAT Leaders." The program began with a "Kindness Week," during which students did activities every day that promoted helping others, community service, and understanding. Teachers and staff say that students are very involved. A lot of kids volunteer to help their classmates or work on projects to clean up and take care of the school.
