I designed and developed RoboSense, an empathetic robotic aid for individuals with visual impairments; Auto Gate Smart Gate , a sensor-based automated gate system with lighting integration; and Genie Smart Lamp, an energy-saving night lamp that switches on and off automatically using sensors.
A smart walking stick add-on that detects obstacles and uneven surfaces, using ultrasonic sensors and Micro:bit to provide audible warnings and alarms. It also displays emergency contact information, offering practical mobility support for users with limited vision. The idea came from watching my grandfather struggle after eye surgery, and the tool emphasizes independence and safety.
A smart LED lamp that automatically switches on in the dark and off in bright light, using an Arduino Uno and LDR sensor. Designed to save energy while creating a “magical” user experience, the lamp demonstrates how simple sensors can make everyday life smarter.
A sensor-driven smart gate system that opens automatically when a vehicle approaches and switches on lights at night. Using an ultrasonic sensor, servo motor, and LDR sensor, the project combines convenience, safety, and energy efficiency—showcasing real-world applications of home automation.
Anika transformed her concern for her grandfather's safety into RoboSense during MoonCampaign – Show & Tell, refining the idea with help from Moonpreneur mentors. Her empathetic innovation came to life and was celebrated in the showcase, highlighting her belief that technology can truly make a difference.
I designed and showcased RoboSense, Auto Gate Smart Gate, and Genie Smart Lamp—projects that use sensors and coding to solve real-world problems. From aiding people with visual impairments to automating gates and saving energy with smart lighting, each project reflects my curiosity and empathy. Sharing them during the Show & Tell campaign was a rewarding experience that inspired me to keep innovating.
Learn moreI led two hands‑on, in‑person STEM workshops at my school, guiding over 70 enthusiastic young learners through fundamental concepts in gesture‑based technology and programming. I also demonstrated how gesture‑controlled software can support people with disabilities, encouraging participants to think inclusively about technology.

Technical Explanation & Communication
At Moonpreneur, I discovered how empathy can shape innovation. RoboSense
taught me that seeing the world through someone else's eyes, and coding for
solutions, can make a real difference. Now, I’m excited to keep building technology
that cares.
I learned that kindness and curiosity can create tools that empower people. With RoboSense, I combined my love for my grandfather with my tech skills; with the Auto Gate Smart Gate, I explored how automation can make life easier; and with the Genie Smart Lamp, I discovered how simple ideas can save energy. Together, these projects showed me the power of purposeful innovation.
As a STEM Ambassador, I learned that sharing what I build can inspire others. Teaching my classmates about RoboSense showed me how empathy and innovation together can make a real difference, even at age 8.
