MoonCampaign by Anika (7 years)
Anika developed RoboSense, an empathetic and innovative robotic aid inspired by her grandfather's challenges following eye surgery. This assistive tool, designed for individuals with visual impairments, uses a Micro:bit and an ultrasonic sensor to detect obstacles and provide audible warnings based on proximity, including an alarm for close dangers. RoboSense also alerts users about uneven surfaces and can display emergency contact information, ensuring enhanced safety and usability. Through this project, Anika demonstrated how technology can address real-world needs, emphasizing empathy and independence for those facing daily mobility challenges.

My project, RoboSense, was inspired by my grandfather, who recently underwent eye surgery. Watching his struggle and worrying about his ability to navigate safely gave me the idea to create a robotic aid to assist people with limited or no vision. RoboSense is designed to be a reliable and intelligent guide for individuals who face daily challenges due to visual impairments.

Project-based learning pushes children beyond memorization. It teaches them to experiment, debug mistakes, solve unexpected problems, and think independently. When kids build, test, fail, improve, and present their work, they develop the exact mindset needed to thrive in an AI-driven world—not just as users of technology, but as future creators and innovators.
Every child is gifted. Discover how yours can innovate and lead
