Johnson Junior High School's three students won awards in the VFW's Patriot’s Pen Essay Contest in December 2025. Additionally, eighth-grader Oliver Fournier was named Student of the Week in December 2025 for maintaining a 4.0 GPA while competing in cross-country and soccer.
