3400 South 900 East is where Evergreen Jr. High is located in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake City. There are about 760 seventh and eighth graders there. Classes are smaller, and students get more individual attention because there is 16:1 student teacher ratio. The average level of academic proficiency is close to the state average, with 51% in math and 50% in reading. The class has a good mix of boys and girls, with 49% boys and 51% girls. Evergreen's main goal is to create a structured and supportive environment where students are expected to be consistent and interested in their studies.
