Churchill Jr. High is 800 South 200 West, which is on the west side of downtown Salt Lake City. There are about 650 kids in grades 7 and 8. The school has smaller classes because there 16:1 student teacher ratio. This means that students get more one-on-one help. 58% of students are good at math, and 55% are good at reading, which is a little below the state average. There are a good number of boys and girls in the class: 51% are boys and 49% are girls. Churchill says that students are more likely to stay on task and be responsible in a well-organized setting with clear rules and routines. The staff is always there for the kids and gives them advice, so parents say the school is safe. The prices of homes in the area range from $395,000 to $600,000, making it a good place for families who want to live close to downtown. Churchill Jr. High is working hard to get students more involved and help them do better in school, even though their skills could be better. It is a middle school in Utah that tries to be the best it can be because it has a structured approach and a friendly atmosphere.
