Floyd Light Middle School is benefiting from David Douglas School District's 2025-2026 initiative to maintain inclusive and secure learning environments through upgraded safety and student wellness systems.
Q1. Is there a special program for new 6th graders and their families at Floyd Light Middle School?
Ans. Every year, the school has "Fifth Grade Parent Night" and student orientation sessions to help students get used to life in middle school.
Q2. How can parents see their child's grades and attendance at Floyd Light Middle School online?
Ans. Through the ParentVUE portal, parents can safely see real-time academic data and attendance records and talk to teachers directly.
Q3. For the 2026 school year, are there any new rules at Floyd Light Middle School to keep students safe?
Ans. The school follows the district-wide Standard Response Protocols to keep everyone safe. It also changed how it handles visitors and keeps people safe when they come to campus.
Q4. Are there any clubs or activities that students at Floyd Light Middle School can join after school?
Ans. Yes, the school has different clubs and programs in the SUN community school that help students with their homework and give them something to do after school.
Q5. What kinds of help can students at Floyd Light Middle School get if they need more help with their schoolwork?
Ans. The school has special education teachers who only work with certain students. It also makes individualized education plans and offers specialized support services based on what each student needs.
