Lost Mountain Middle School was recently recognized nationally as the only school in Georgia to earn the Music for All Advocacy in Action Award. Announced March 11, 2025, the award praised the school’s music program and band directors for their innovative “Concert on the Lawn” project. The annual event was a success due to its community involvement, bringing together elementary, middle and high school musicians for a family friendly performance complete with local food trucks. The leadership of the school in music education was evidenced by the attendance of school musicians and teachers at the Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference.
