Rising Starr Middle School 7th grade science teacher Melissa Knowles has been named the 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year. The school’s volleyball team also finished as champions, capping off an incredible undefeated season. The school also received its 7th recertification as a Georgia National Lighthouse School to Watch, the only school in the state to receive that many designations.
