The Dwight O. Conner Planetarium at Parkersburg High School is getting a major renovation that will include cutting-edge digital projection systems and advanced software that will expand the curriculum beyond astronomy to include all STEM fields. The school is still very competitive. The Speech and Debate team recently won five individual event titles at Ripley High School, which helped them win the 2026 tournament championship. The Parkersburg High School Foundation is also still committed to innovation in the classroom by giving out more than $21,000 in teacher grants to pay for creative projects like new standing desks for students.
