University High School is currently celebrating its 100th anniversary, which means that the 100th graduating class will be in the 2025–2026 school year. The athletic department is also making a big step forward by building a $4 million baseball and softball complex to improve the facilities for student-athletes. The wrestling team is still doing great on the mat. They recently entered the 2026 state championships as the best team in West Virginia after winning the WSAZ Invitational title for the second year in a row.
