Bridgeport High School is one of the best public high schools in Bridgeport, West Virginia. It is also one of five high schools in the Harrison County Schools district. The school has a student-to-teacher ratio of 16:1 and serves about 830 students in grades 9 through 12. It is known as one of the best schools in the state, thanks to its strong Advanced Placement (AP) program, which has a 49% participation rate.The campus has a 10% minority enrollment and offers full support to all of its students. Academic excellence is a hallmark, with 73% of students being good at reading and 49% being good at math, and it is one of the best high school in West Virginia.

Bridgeport High School was recently added to the Silver level of the 2025 AP School Honor Roll. This is a sign of how well it has done in getting more students involved and getting them ready for college through a wide range of Advanced Placement courses. The school is also celebrating its first-ever state championships in girls' cross-country and boys' soccer in the fall. These are the first of their kind in the school's history.
