About Beloit Learning Academy

Beloit Learning Academy is a public alternative school in Beloit, Wisconsin that serves students in grades 6–12 in the Beloit area. There are about 210 to 215 students at the school, and there is one teacher for every 18 students. A group of dedicated teachers and school counselors work together to keep students interested in school and help them do well there. Beloit Learning Academy helps students who do better in a smaller, more supportive learning environment by offering personalized instruction, flexible learning paths, and credit recovery. The main things the school works on are basic academic skills, social and emotional growth, and getting ready for graduation. As part of their college plans, students can also take the SAT and ACT. Most of the students come from minority backgrounds, and about 79% of them economically disadvantaged. The student body is made up of people from many different backgrounds.
