Newport Senior High School is a public high school in Bellevue, Washington. It is in the Bellevue School District and teaches students in grades 9 through 12. There are about 1,900 to 2,000 students at the school, and one teacher for every 18 students. This creates a structured and academically difficult place to learn. There are eight high schools in the district, and Newport Senior High School is one of them. It is also the third-best high school in Washington. The school has a lot of hard classes and tests, such as Advanced Placement (AP) classes. This shows that students are very interested in doing college-level work because 84% of them are taking AP classes. Students can also take honors classes, career and technical education pathways, and a lot of extracurricular activities that help them get ready for college and a job. The school has a wide range of students. Around 78% of them are not white, and about 16% economically disadvantaged. This makes the school community lively and friendly. 78% of students are good at math and 92% are good at reading (ELA) for the school year 2025–2026. Students also take the SAT and ACT to get ready for college.
