Floyd Kellam High School is a public high school in Virginia Beach, Virginia, serving students in grades 9 through 12. It is a part of the Virginia Beach City Public Schools system. With about 1,900 to 2,000 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 16:1, the school keeps things organized in the classroom. The school offers many Advanced Placement (AP) courses and tests, and 51% of students take them. This shows that the school is focused on getting students ready for college. There are also honors classes, career and technical education options, and activities that help students learn more about the main subjects. About 24% of the students are from minority groups, and about 14% of them say they are economically disadvantaged. This means that the students are pretty evenly split. The results for the 2025–2026 school year show that 93% of students were good at math and 94% were good at reading (ELA). Students also take the SAT and ACT, and their scores are about the same as those of the best public schools in the area. It is one of the best high schools in Virginia.

Floyd Kellam High School is in the news for its dedication to helping students succeed! The school has put in place some programs to help students do well in school, such as SAT prep workshops and programs that focus on careers. Kellam High's sports teams are also doing well; they just won championships in soccer and lacrosse. The school's music education program has also been nationally recognized for the 16th time, underscoring how much they care about ensuring all of their students are well-rounded.
