Bayside High School is a public magnet high school in Virginia Beach, VA. The Virginia Beach City Public Schools division serves students in grades 9 through 12. There are about 2,000 students at the school, and the student-to-teacher ratio is about 17:1. This makes for a fun but structured learning environment. Bayside High School is one of the 12 high schools in the district and the 88th best high school in the state of Virginia. There are many academic paths at the school, including Advanced Placement (AP) classes and tests. About 26% of students are in AP classes. Bayside High School has programs like health sciences, honors classes, and career-focused learning opportunities to help students get ready for college and jobs. There are a lot of different kinds of students at the school. About 75% of them are minorities and 80% say they economically disadvantaged. For the school year 2025–2026, student performance indicators show that 90% of students are good at math and 84% of students are good at reading (ELA). Students also take the SAT and ACT, which are tests that help them get into college.

Bayside High School in Virginia Beach is doing well with its new programs and ideas. The school recently started a new program to help students do better in school, go to school more often, and behave better. Bayside High has also been named a Purple Star School because it helps military-connected students and families. The school is also putting on events like the Freshman Expo and the Specialty Programs Open House to get parents and students involved.
