About Yorktown High

Yorktown High School is a public high school in Arlington, Virginia. It is a school for grades 9–12 in the Arlington County Public Schools system. There are between 1,600 and 1,700 students at the school, and one teacher for every 15 students. This creates an environment that is both supportive and focused on academics. The district has four high schools and the one of the best high school in Virginia is Yorktown High School. The school has a lot of academic programs, such as classes and tests for Advanced Placement (AP). 71% of students take AP classes, which shows that they are very interested in doing hard schoolwork. There are also honors classes, career and technical education pathways, and a lot of extracurricular activities that help students get ready for college and work. About 40% of the students are from a minority group, and about 13% said they economically disadvantaged. According to academic data, 95% of students will be able to read (ELA) and 93% will be able to do math in the 2025–2026 school year. Students also take the SAT and ACT to get ready for college.
