Canyon is a pretty city in the Texas Panhandle with about 16,000 people living there. It is close to Palo Duro Canyon and has a "small-town" feel, with a strong academic influence from the nearby university. The public school system gets very high marks, and students often get "A" grades for their progress and achievement. High schools in this area focus on core academics and programs based on agriculture, which is a reflection of the area's history.
