Summit Academy Transition High School-Columbus received Five Stars for Educational Gap Closing on the Ohio State Report Card and was honored by the Buckeye Community Hope Foundation for substantially surpassing the state standards. Principal Cheryl Elliott and her team were also lauded for the highest graduation rate in the foundation’s portfolio of schools, with personalized support helping seniors meet requirements. Students enjoyed the Blues in the Schools program with blues icon Teeny Tucker and guitarist Zayne Harshaw who shared music history and personal stories of overcoming challenges.
