The school has about 1,100 to 1,300 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 15:1. This means that the classes are structured and the number of students in each class is moderate. Riverside High School has a traditional academic curriculum and offers Advanced Placement (AP®) classes and tests, but only 7% of students take AP classes, which shows that not many students are interested in taking advanced classes. Riverside High School is getting a lot of attention for its recent successes! The varsity boys basketball team at the school won a number of games, including a 51-42 win over Lincoln High School and a 46-13 win over Keio Academy of N.Y. High School. Also, Riverside High School senior Daniel Leon was nominated for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, which honors students for their outstanding academic and community service. The school is also on the AP School Honor Roll for having a great AP program.
