The Minnesota high school system showcases the "tale of two states": a graduation rate of 84.2% in 2024. The state has approximately 950 public high schools and 513 private high schools across Minnesota. Some of the best high schools in Minnesota—Wayzata, Eden Prairie, Minnetonka, and Edina—hold excellent rankings among their peers; all they have in common are significant investments in per-pupil funding, mental health services (including counseling), free breakfast and lunch for students, and mandated personal finance and civics courses.
