The school has about 1,350 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of 16:1, which encourages a collaborative and student-centered learning environment. Wilde Lake High School is known as one of the best schools in the area. It offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses and tests, with about half of students taking them. It also has honors programs and college-prep courses. There are a lot of different kinds of students at the school. About 77% of them are minorities, and about 42% of them are from low-income families. About 8% of students were good at math and 46% were good at reading for the 2025–2026 school year. The school gives the SAT and ACT tests to help students get ready for college. Wilde Lake High School is in a well-established suburban community and continues to show promise through its rigorous academics, wide range of opportunities, and student-centered programs.

Wilde Lake High School's new "Lake Leadership" program, which includes civic engagement and community service in the 2026 student government curriculum, is still helping students become leaders. The school recently held a successful arts festival for students from different districts. The festival took place in the school's newly renovated performance hall and featured student work in visual arts, photography, and film. The science department has also added new dual-enrollment options in environmental science, which let students earn college credit by doing field research projects.
