Shawnee Mission West High School has added a specialized Culinary Arts pathway with a professional-grade kitchen lab where students can earn food service management credentials. The district's Real World Learning program has also helped the campus by giving seniors more paid internships and dual-credit enrollment options. The school also recently celebrated the success of its Science Olympiad team, which made it to the state championship after a series of tough regional competitions.
