Columbus, Georgia's Spencer High School is a public high school that is part of the Muscogee County School District. It is for students in grades 9 through 12. With about 1,300 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 16:1, the school is about the same size as a typical classroom in a large urban high school in the area. Spencer High School offers a full curriculum that includes core academic subjects, career and technical education pathways, and some honors and Advanced Placement classes. The school works to prepare students for college and the job market, as well as getting them involved in activities outside of school, such as sports, the arts, and student leadership programs. There are a lot of different kinds of students, and more than 85% of them are Black, Hispanic, White, Asian, or multiracial. 14% of students are good at math, and 14% are good at reading and writing in English. Spencer High School gives college entrance exams like the SAT as part of its testing and college prep process.

The Spencer High School Greenwave football team did really well in 2025. They beat their local rivals, Columbus and Shaw, which was great, but they lost to Miller Grove in the playoffs.Their last games really showed how hard they worked, and the whole community got behind them.
