With about 2,200 to 2,400 students and a student–teacher ratio of about 18:1, the school has a typical classroom environment for a large urban high school. Clarke Central High School has a strong academic program that includes college-prep classes, Advanced Placement (AP) classes, career and technical education (CTE) pathways, fine arts, and sports. There are a lot of different types of students at the school, and a large number of them are from minority groups, which is similar to the Athens community as a whole. About 28% of students are good at math and about 39% are good at reading (ELA). These results show that the students did better than average in some local schools and that they are good at reading and writing. Clarke Central High School is a public school that gets money from the state and local governments. Students also take the SAT and other standard college-readiness tests.
