Cedar Shoals High School is a public high school in Athens, Georgia. It is part of the Clarke County School District and serves students in grades 9–12. The school has about 1,800 to 2,000 students, and the student-teacher ratio is about 17:1. Cedar Shoals High School has a full academic program that includes college-prep courses, Advanced Placement (AP) classes, career and technical education (CTE) pathways, fine arts, and sports. The school offers a wide range of academic and extracurricular activities to help students succeed and get involved. The student body is diverse, with a large number of minority students, which is similar to the demographics of Athens as a whole. Two Cedar Shoals High School students won awards in the 2025 Martin Luther King Jr. writing and art contest. One won first place in art and the other won second place in writing. They will be honored at the upcoming University of Georgia Freedom Breakfast. This school year, the awards show off creativity and school pride.
