West High School is a great public high school in Torrance, California, that serves students in grades 9 through 12. It has about 1,900 students. It is one of the best schools in the state because it has high academic standards and a lot of different ways to teach. 54% of students at the school take Advanced Placement classes, which helps 78% of them read well and 49% of them do well in math. The school has 78% minority students, and 25% of the students come from families that are not well off. West High School is still one of the best schools in the Torrance Unified School District. It has 26 students for every teacher. Its main goal is to help students do well on the SAT and ACT, which are tests that they need to take to get into college. The area around here has a good reputation and a school environment that is stable. Overall, the school does a great job of fostering a culture of high achievement and preparing a wide range of students for competitive opportunities after high school, and it is one of the best high schools in California.

West High recently opened a newly renovated library media center that has been turned into a high-tech center for research, making digital media, and studying together. The school's science Olympiad and robotics teams have done very well in recent competitions, showing off their ability to come up with new designs and solve technical problems. The campus has also added more Advanced Placement classes and new peer-mentoring programs to help students make the switch to college.
