The Cabrillo High School Aquarium recently held its first open house of 2026. The theme was "Valentine's Day Twist," which focused on student-led research and efforts to protect marine life. This one-of-a-kind student-run facility recently won a prestigious statewide education award for having its best year ever, when it welcomed more than 10,000 visitors to its expanded 20-display exhibit floor. The campus has also improved its project-based learning options by adding the "Cal Coastal Wetlands" exhibit, which is 1,000 gallons in size and the biggest and most interactive addition in the program's history.
