Linda Esperanza Marquez High B: LIBRA Academy has successfully started a new project-based learning program that focuses on urban sustainability and environmental justice in the Huntington Park community. The school recently improved its multimedia and digital arts lab, giving students access to high-quality software for projects that involve creative writing and social activism. Also, this semester the academy is holding a series of college-readiness intensives. These are special workshops that help seniors get ready for college by teaching them how to write personal statements and find scholarships.
