Lee High School, home to the Creative and Performing Arts Magnet, recently held its annual winter arts gala, which featured high-level student work in dance, technical theater, and visual arts. The school is also benefiting from a new peer-mentoring program that helps students of all grades grow academically and as leaders. The faculty also recently honored their Teacher of the Year for making outstanding contributions to the school's specialized arts curriculum.
Q1. What does the Creative and Performing Arts Magnet do?
Ans. School students get a lot of practice in dance, singing, and technical theater in a professional-grade space.
Q2. Do college entrance exams happen here for high school students?
Ans. Lee High School organizes ACT testing sessions to help students meet Alabama's college readiness standards.
Q3. What kinds of engineering programs are there?
Ans. The New Century Technology program at this site offers advanced computer science and engineering classes to high school students.
Q4. What does the school do to get people involved in the community?
Ans. Service-learning clubs give students the chance to volunteer and lead projects all over Huntsville.
Q5. Is there a program for cooking?
Ans. Students in school can get professional culinary training, which will help them get jobs in the hospitality industry.
