Buffalo Ridge Elementary School is a public school in Gillette, Wyoming, that is part of Campbell County School District #1. It serves students in kindergarten through sixth grade. The school has about 300 to 350 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 17:1, which is close to the state average and helps with structured classroom instruction. Buffalo Ridge Elementary School's curriculum is based on standards and focuses on English language arts, math, science, and social studies. The focus of instruction is on basic academic skills, being ready for the next grade, and steady student progress. According to U.S. News & World Report, about 61% of students are good at math and 72% are good at reading (ELA). This shows that they are better at reading than math. The student body is somewhat diverse, with about 20–25% of students from minority groups. This is similar to the demographics of the Gillette community as a whole. The school is in a family-friendly part of Gillette where housing costs are still fairly low. This is good for the school because it has a stable community.
