Recently, Franklin Elementary Center made news for starting a partnership with Integrated Health Centers of West Virginia to help the community. The goal of the project is to provide more health and wellness support on campus for students, which will help them attend school more often and feel better overall. School leaders see the partnership as a good way to improve services for students and their families.
Q1. Does Franklin Elementary Center have programs for kids after school?
Ans. Franklin Elementary Center usually has a few after-school activities, like homework help, seasonal events, and enrichment led by staff or community partners. However, these activities may change from year to year.
Q2. What kinds of transportation are there for students?
Ans. Students can use Wood County Schools' buses to get to and from school. The routes are based on where the students live in the school's attendance area.
Q3. Do schools want parents to be involved in school events?
Ans. Yes, the school encourages parents to get involved by having parent-teacher meetings, school events, Title I activities, and volunteer opportunities all year long.
Q4. Does the school help students who are learning English?
Ans. When they sign up, English language learners get help from the district, such as one-on-one help and resources to help them learn the language.
Q5. What safety steps does Franklin Elementary Center take?
Ans. The school follows the safety rules set by the district, which include secure building entry, regular emergency drills, staff supervision, and following state safety rules.
