Emerson Elementary School is a public school in Parkersburg, West Virginia, that teaches kids from kindergarten to fifth grade. The school has about 300 students and a student-to-teacher ratio of about 16:1. This lets teachers give each student their own attention and teach them in a focused way. Emerson Elementary focuses on the basics, like reading, writing, math, and science. It also offers enrichment programs in art, music, and technology to help kids grow in all areas. The student body is not very diverse, with only about 12–15% of students coming from minority groups. These students come from a variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Recent data shows that Emerson Elementary students do at or slightly better than the state average in Math and English Language Arts (ELA). This shows that they are consistently doing well in school. The school gets the same amount of money per student as other schools in the district. This money goes toward classroom supplies, teaching programs, and extracurricular activities. Emerson Elementary is in a neighborhood that is good for families and has affordable housing options. It is a stable and supportive place to be. The school's strengths are its strong academic foundation, dedicated teachers, and chances for students to grow in many different areas.
