In Morgantown, West Virginia, Brookhaven Elementary School is a public school for kids. It has classes for kids in pre-K through fifth grade. There are between 350 and 370 students at the school, and there is one teacher for every 14 students. This helps with focused teaching and keeps the number of students in each class small. Reading, writing, and math are the most important subjects at Brookhaven Elementary. They follow the same curriculum as regular public schools. The school has extra classes in art, music, physical education, and technology integration. It also helps students with different learning styles reach their academic goals by providing them with access to special education services and programs that help them. 18 to 20 percent of the students are Black, Hispanic, or multiracial, which means they are not white. About 60–65% of students are proficient at math, and about 55–60% are proficient at reading and writing. This figure is a little better than the average for the state. The district gives schools the money they need to run and teach. Brookhaven Elementary School is a favorable place for kids in Morgantown to start school because it has a friendly, community-focused atmosphere, consistent academic success, a wide range of programs, and small class sizes.
