Being Updated
The community led a big planting project at Opequon Elementary School not too long ago. Students helped plant trees that are native to the area on school grounds. This project shows that the school still cares about the environment and learning by doing.
Students learned about ecology, sustainability, and the benefits of trees outside, where they could use what they learned right away to make their school grounds better. Teachers said the kids were very happy and excited to make their school more welcoming and green.
