In September 2025, Guyandotte Elementary School in Huntington started a PTO fundraiser to help pay for field trips and other activities for students.
Q1. What kinds of activities do students at Guyandotte Elementary School do outside of school?
Ans. The school has clubs, art, music, physical education, and after-school programs that students can join to do things other than schoolwork.
Q2. Does Guyandotte Elementary help students who need extra help?
Ans. Yes, the school has staff who work only with special education students, individualized education plans (IEPs), and services like speech and occupational therapy to help students with different learning needs.
Q3. What does Guyandotte Elementary do to get parents involved in school events?
Ans. Parents can help with school programs and learning by joining the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), volunteering, going to school events, and having meetings with teachers.
Q4. What kinds of technology do students have access to?
Ans. To help students learn and improve their digital literacy skills, the school gives them computers, tablets, and educational software to use in class.
Q5. Does Guyandotte Elementary have any nutrition programs?
Ans. Yes, students can get breakfast and lunch, and some families can get free or low-cost meals.
